A Sampler of Summer Woodland Wildflowers – Part 3

Today, I returned to 100 Acre Wood in the Town of Malta to continue my wildflower inventory.

I hope you enjoy this sampler of what is in bloom this week in a nearby woodland; take a look.

Other woodland species also in bloom included:

  • Indian Tobacco
  • Indian Pipe
  • Horse Balm
  • Yellow Wood Sorrel

A few other woodland species were in bud-stage and should be blooming by the end of next week.  Those include:

  • Blue-stemmed Goldenrod
  • Whorled Aster
  • Wintergreen

In the few open areas just outside of the forest, I noticed these additional species in bloom:

Other wildflower species also in bloom included:

  • New Jersey Tea
  • Alsike Clover
  • Red Clover
  • White Clover
  • Panicled Hawkweed
