Old Iron Spring Fitness Trail

Old Iron Spring Fitness Trail is located in the Village of Ballston Spa between Prospect Street and Front Street.  A small parking area along Prospect Street adjoins the trailhead.  The trail is approximately 0.4 mile in length and it has a crushed stone surface.

This trail is wheelchair accessible.

This trail is wheelchair accessible, but only from the parking lot along Prospect Street.

Named after the first mineral spring discovered (in 1771) in America, it was first known as the Public Well, then Iron Railing Spring; it is now called the Old Iron Spring.  The original spring was about fifty feet south of the present pavilion, in what would now be the middle of Front Street.  The present pavilion is the location of Old Iron Spring Pavilion & Park.
